I finally got Windows Vista installed on my PC

It is not an easy decision, but finally I got Windows Vista installed on my PC. After reading so many negative comments, I was quite hesitant to move away from my XP professional to something unknown.  Plus the possibilities of many old applications in my system may not work well or not work at all.

The reason triggered me to switch is that I need to write a quick guide about Windows Vista – I certainly need the hands on experience to do the job, in addition of reading lots of literatures. So this is not necessarily a pure free choice. I installed the best and the most expensive edition for a personal user: Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.
The result, I like it. I especially like the security features provided in the Windows Vista system. The following lists a few:
-Firewall: much better than the one in Windows XP
-Defender: a nice tool to protect your system from virus and spyware attack
-Backup-recovery system: Multiple options to prevent data loss and corruption
-Encryption File System and BitLocker: Protect data privacy for high sensitive data
-User Account Control: Provide right privileges for right people to avoid un-necessary mistakes and intentional abuse.
I highly recommend the Vista Ultimate edition. Simply for its advanced security and management features, it should worth the extra payment verses other editions, because someday it may save you lots of time and money.
