After a long pause, there is a killer application to get people in the networking and computing industry excited: it is the so called "Unified Communication (UC)". Industrial leaders such as Cisco and Microsoft are in the game, so are hundreds smaller companies. The UC solutions from the IP centric vendors are flocking to the market, while the traditional PBX guys are also transforming their existing products to meet the demand.
Cisco is pushing its Teleprsence solution to the market. The acquisition of WeBex by Cisco allows it to penetrate to the SMB market. Microsoft has the Live Meeting for a long time, now it is providing an enterprise solution in this space.
