    Interop 2008: An Industry without Hot Spot

    Interop, the largest conferece and tradeshow for the networking and IT industry, was taken place at Las Vegas last week. All the vendors who supposed to be there were there - no surprise.

    In addition to the traditional discussions such as network security, wireless/mobility, data center, VOIP, etc., this conference added some "green" color to catch up the global trend of "green technologies." Basically, the presenters were just trying to show some energy saving equipments and tricks.

    This conference also worked put lots of focuses on software. The Enterprise 2.0 session is trying to show case the applications of the web 2.0 technologies to the enterprise environment. The Software session has given the open source movement visible spot-light.

    From the fact of lacking of fundermental echnology innovations in the industry, it looks like that the networking industry is getting mature.
